💬 Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome!
At It All Adds Up Tutoring, we know that finding the right math support for your child can feel overwhelming. This page answers the most common questions parents ask about how our sessions work, what to expect, and how we help students build confidence in math.
1️⃣ What subjects do you tutor?
We specialize in K–12 math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. Our tutors have completed advanced math courses (including Calculus) and focus on building strong foundational skills for long-term success.
2️⃣ How does the first session work?
The first session is $20 with the discount and acts as an assessment. During this session, we get to know your student’s strengths and challenges, go over test taking strategies, and identify their comfort level with foundational math concepts.
Afterward, you’ll receive a Student Assessment Report — a short, customized summary that helps guide future lessons.

3️⃣ What’s included in the Student Assessment Report?
The report shows:
✅ Your child’s current math strengths
✅ Foundational areas that need reinforcement
✅ A personalized plan for upcoming lessons
This makes sure every future session targets exactly what your student needs — no generic worksheets or one-size-fits-all lessons.
4️⃣ Do you offer online or in-person tutoring?
We offer both options. Most sessions are online for convenience, using an interactive, real-time approach where students and tutors can share screens and work through problems together.
Some in-person sessions may also be available in the Mooresville, Troutman, and nearby areas.
5️⃣ Who are your tutors?
We have an incredible team of tutors who share one goal — helping students truly understand math, not just get through it.
You can read more about each of them on the Meet Our Tutors page, where you’ll find their backgrounds, experience, and what makes them great at connecting with students.
6️⃣ How does scheduling work?
You can easily book online through our Appointments page.
🗓️ New families: Please be sure to select the “New Student Session” when booking your first appointment. This discounted session allows us to assess your child’s math foundation and create a personalized plan before starting recurring lessons.
After that, recurring sessions can be scheduled directly with your assigned tutor to fit your family’s schedule.
