Quick Tips for Mastering Percentages
Percentages are everywhere—shopping, tipping, or calculating grades. Here are a few tricks to make them simple:
1. 10% Rule: Move the decimal point one place left.
Example: 10% of 250 = 25.
2. 5% Fast: Half the value of 10%.
Example: 5% of 250 = 25 ÷ 2 = 12.5.
3. Find 1%: Divide by 100 for precision.
Example: 1% of 360 = 3.6.
4. Combine Percentages: Add up smaller parts for totals.
Example: 15% of 200 = (10% + 5%) = 20 + 10 = 30.
